Manhandle South of the Panhandle Sportsnation had folks vote for the best name for this weekend’s “battle” between the Patriots (6-0) and the Dolphins (0-6). Here are the results (5,503 total votes):

“Manhandle South of the Panhandle” – 38%
“The Battle Without a Porpoise” – 23%
“Six of one, half dozen of the other” – 15%
“Oh, the Hu-Manatee” – 14%
“Guys and Dolphins” – 9%

The Dolphins suck. The only highlight of the season so far has been the emergence of Ronnie Brown as a stud RB. It hurt me to see Chris Chambers go, but I guess it’s for the better. Let’s see what Ted Ginn (R) and Derek Hagan (2nd year) are made of. We also have Marty Booker, who occasionally shows signs of life. Cleo Lemon has been able to surprise me in the past too. We are the only team in the history of the NFL to go undefeated (’72 Dolphins). Can we be the only team to ever go winless? I think we have a good shot.

On the flipside, the Patriots are an absolute juggernaut this season. I think they have a very good chance of going undefeated. They don’t even have their best defensive player, Richard Seymour. Wes Welker has proven he is an invaluable offensive weapon and Randy Moss has proven he is the best WR in the NFL. And now Dante Stallworth decided to start playing too. Tom Brady is en route to breaking all of the single season QB records. They are down to their 3rd string RB in Kevin Faulk, and I think he will do just fine behind that massive OL. I actually have Welker, Stallworth and Faulk playing for my fantasy team this week (with Sammy Morris on the bench).

Here is my prediction for the game:
Patriots 45
Dolphins 17

    Scott said,

You’re being generous with 17 points for the fins… sorry. Probably also with 45 points for the pats. Not to rub salt in the gash, but check out this article about Ginn

and to ease the pain of losing chambers a highly statistical article about how much he actually sucked:
