So long Joe… Welcome home Joe.

Yanks announced that Joe Girardi will be back in pinstripes, this time as their skipper. I have a good feeling about this move… if Girardi could win with the Marlins with a $14 million payroll, then he can definitely make waves with the bankroll that the Yanks organization will offer. He has also won here before; Girardi was the catcher on the Yanks Championship teams in ’96, ’98 and ’99 and also caught David Cone’s perfect game in ’99.

I am a big Don Mattingly fan, but “Donny Baseball” just did not have the managerial experience to take the reigns of this squad yet. Rumor has it that both Mattingly and Torre could be going to LA to coach the Dodgers together. Last night on Letterman, Torre said that not everything they say in the newspapers is the truth. We’ll see about that in the next few months…
